Race Realities™
A new program to help leaders respond to racism in America
Until reality is defined, progress is impossible
Let’s go deeper than diversity training.
Let’s move beyond cultural competence and implicit bias.
If you want improved team dynamics, better decision-making, and more collaborative workgroups, then you need less fluff and more real talk.
I’ve drawn from a lifetime of scholarship and advocacy to create Race Realities™, a course to help your organization address the “elephant in the room.”
It introduces a leadership model and historical context to the examination of structural racism in the United States.
I’ve designed the course to spark curiosity, foster dialogue, and present a clear understanding of the challenges of racial healing and collaborative decision-making in business settings.

We explore Race and Racism through 3 lenses
Awareness
What?
We start with the language challenges related to this topic. In today’s hyper-sensitive racial environment, words have even more power to offend or uplift.
We also explore quantitative research that illuminates the poor outcomes that exist for certain communities of color in various systems and institutions.
Understanding
So What?
The past lives throughout our society and guides our relationships, policies and practices. Yet may people have never been taught the full history of our nation.
We will review particular aspects of U.S. history to further explain our current situation. This is a critical stage in the process of humanization and healing.
Application
Now What?
Most leaders want to fix a problem immediately. But racial justice efforts require us to pause, reflect, and examine the culture in which the problem thrives.
We’ll start with a clear analysis of the values and traditions that drive behavior. We’ll also examine how accountability is critical to problem solving.

Testimonials
Erianne Weight
Associate Professor at UNC- Chapel Hill
“Dr. Stroman thoughtfully and professionally addressed the heart of our issues in this country. I’ve attended many “inclusion/diversity” seminars that were largely fluff that I didn’t feel would move the needle, but what Debby presents is anything but fluff. Her presentations are based on research, thought-provoking, and are exactly what any corporation, classroom, or individual needs to hear.”
Jackson Newton
Operations at Chick-fil-A
“Dr. Stroman is the most impressive woman I have ever met. She is a joy to work with and her passion is unmatched. She has a way of presenting her knowledge in a fashion that doesn’t feel demeaning, but rather by pulling you in. Her dedication to her work, education, diversity and progress is inspiring, and made me realize how I needed to shift my activism into the most productive and educational forms.”
Mary Reiling Spencer
VP Recruiting, L&D at Wasserman
“Dr. Stroman shared a very powerful presentation supported by statistics and data, making this presentation even more impactful. I highly recommend considering Dr. Stroman as a contributor to your organization or group, whether to deliver this presentation or tapping into her incredible background and experience as a consultant in the sports/sports education/sports analytics areas.”
